I have tried many budget websites. I have paid for some. From mint.com to mvelopes to personal capital. I have downloaded a lot of the ones in the app stores. I just don’t like any of them. Sorry. Maybe you do and you should stick with them.
I just don’t want to link my bank account, and I don’t want to re-enter my budget every month. I just wanted a simple monthly budget app that I could use with my wife and that tracked our spending.
All I want is Mindful Spending
If I buy something, I want to be able to enter the amount I spent, the category I spent it in and a short optional description. I couldn’t really find a free budgeting software, either online or in the app store, that handled this simply and intuitively.
SO, I built my own Family Budgeting Website (Based on the envelope system)
I called it I Spent Money. Yes, it is a little vulgar. Especially when you read the tagline “Stick to your I Spent Money”
And I apologize for the vulgarity. If it ever gets popular, I vow to someday change the name to something more innocent and kid friendly.
I Spent Money IS EASY!
These are the Steps to Creating a Budget:
